First Destination Survey Data

The UCF First Destination Survey (FDS), administered by Operational Excellence and Assessment Support (OEAS), is a brief online survey designed to collect information about students’ immediate post-graduation plans. It is administered to all degree-seeking undergraduate and graduate students who have filed an Intent to Graduate (ITG) application. The survey link appears in the student’s “To Do List” within the myUCF portal approximately 4–5 weeks before commencement. Once a student completes the survey, the link is removed from their “To Do List.” The FDS typically receives a response rate of around 65%.

The FDS collects data on graduates’ immediate plans after leaving UCF; those specific to career planning include:

  • Employment status (e.g., employed, seeking employment)
  • Employer name and job title
  • Location of employment
  • Annual salary

The OEAS Knowledgebase is a secure portal that provides centralized access to topical briefs and statistical or survey study reports from the Office of Operational Excellence and Assessment Support (OEAS).

Topical briefs cover a range of subjects, including student retention, time to degree, engagement, post-educational outcomes, and high-impact educational practices. Statistical and survey study reports include results from the Voice of Knights Survey, Graduating Student Survey, First Destination Survey, and the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE).

Data is available at the university, college, and program levels, both in aggregate and disaggregated by various student groups (e.g., gender, ethnicity, entry status, first-generation status, Pell-eligibility, etc.).
