First Destination Survey Student FAQ


As you embark on this exciting new chapter in your life, we would like to hear about the path you have chosen to take after graduating from UCF.

Whether your career or graduate school plans are firmly in place, a work-in-progress, or still unknown, we ask you to complete the survey as best you can so we know what it is that Knights are doing after graduation. UCF will use your responses to support services for alumni and future Knights as they prepare for their career and post-graduation goals.


Q. What is the First Destination Survey about?

A. The First Destination Survey is a very brief online survey that asks about what graduating students are doing or plan to do upon graduating from UCF. Graduates are asked about their employment plans, career fields, job location, employers, salary and other plans such as graduate or professional education.


Q. Where do I find the First Destination Survey?

A. The First Destination Survey is accessed by logging into the myUCF portal using your credentials and by navigating to your “To Do List” items. A survey link is available for all graduating students approximately four weeks prior to graduation. Just click on the link to take the survey that opens in a new window. Specific directions on how to access the survey are also included in Knights emails to all graduating students approximately four weeks prior to graduation.


Q. How long will it take to complete the survey?

A. The First Destination Survey is a very brief (five to seven minute) online survey that UCF graduating students take approximately four weeks prior to their graduation.


Q. How will this information be used?

A. With the information you share, we will work to enhance services provided to all UCF alumni as well as current and future Knights to help you reach your career and post-graduation goals. Summary reports of the results are also used for accreditation and federal and state compliance. This ensures the future value and integrity of your degree.


Q. Are my responses confidential?

A. Your responses are strictly confidential and no individual’s answers will ever be identified in any report.


Q. How do I know if my survey was submitted?

A. Upon clicking the “Submit” button on the last page of the survey, you will see a “Thank you” page that records the time and date when your survey was recorded.


Q. Why is the survey showing up in my “To Do List” item? I thought I completed the survey.

A. The “To Do List” item for the survey may take a week or so to disappear from your checklist after you submit the survey.
