Knights Career Navigator is a webcourse that contains several career prep modules you will be required to complete before the end of your first year here at UCF. It is the career readiness module required by the State of Florida. Don’t worry, you have been automatically enrolled in the webcourse found in your UCF Portal and it shouldn’t take more than 45 minutes to complete. If you have questions, you can email CareerNavigator@ucf.edu or contact Career Services or Experiential Learning.
Students are automatically enrolled in the Knights Navigator, Career Readiness Webcourse. It can be viewed on Webcourses after Fall course registration.
The career center is accessible through Handshake. Each student has a Handshake account, which can be accessed with their MyUCF login credentials, additional registration is not required.
Great question! You are taking this course since you are a First Time in College (FTIC) student. This course allows you to learn about all the amazing resources that UCF offers to help you be career ready.
Please designate around 45 minutes to complete the course. There is supplemental information and resources that are included, but those components are optional to complete.
The Career Readiness Course will be listed as a To-Do, which does affect not course registration, for the semester of enrollment. Each student has until the end of the semester to complete the Webcourse. A hold will not be placed on the account until the following semester if the Webcourse has not been completed.
It is mandatory to complete this course by your first Spring semester of your first year. If this course is not completed by that deadline of the Spring semester then you will have a hold on your account and unable to register for classes.
Through this course you will learn of various tools and resources such as MyCareerShines and Handshake which will help guide you in making decisions about your major and preparing for your chosen career path. You will learn how to utilize these resources to develop real world skills and professional documents such as a resume through the guidance of Career Services and Experiential Learning.
