Practice for Your Interview
- Studies show that students stumble through their first three interviews. To increase your chances for a successful interview, practice with one of our staff.
- Practice interviews are generally 60 minutes in length, including 10-15 minutes of feedback. To sign up for a practice interview, contact us and request an appointment.
- Employer mock interview experiences occur during the Fall and Spring as part of our Career Readiness Program. To sign up for an interview, check out the latest scheduled CRP events through LinkTree.
- Make sure to ask the employer or recruiter questions at the end of the interview. Show that you’ve done your research. Here are some Common Interview Questions you can ask.

Professional Dress

WHAT TO WEAR
- Dark colored, conservative suit
- Pants or skirt suit – skirt should be appropriate length
- Light colored dress shirt with undershirt or light-colored blouse
- Avoid lace, ruffles, and shiny fabrics
- Simple patterned tie
- Polished dress shoes/matching dark socks or closed-toe shoes with a conservative heel
- Well-groomed hairstyle
- Subtle make-up & jewelry
WHAT NOT TO WEAR
- Excessive jewelry
- Tight or revealing clothes
- Flashy accessories
- Ruffles, lace or shiny fabric
- Sunglasses or hats
- Baggy pockets, shorts or jeans
- Holes or rips
- Sneakers or flip flops
VMock SMART Career Platform
Use VMOCK to learn and practice your interview skills, whether you’re interviewing for a job, internship, or graduate school. If you desire interview feedback, video record your response and share the link with a trusted advisor, faculty member, and/or career services. VMock also has a resume component to help you draft a professional resume. Additional features include cover letter reviews, LinkedIn profile reviews, and elevator pitch practice. When creating your account, use your UCF NID and NID password.
Interview Room Reservation
The Dixon Career Development Center has the capacity to provide interview room spaces for students to conduct virtual job, internship, or graduate or professional school interviews, or other informational meetings with employers or academic institutions. Interview room requests can be made no more than two weeks in advance. All requests must be submitted by noon the business day prior to the desired reservation date. We cannot accommodate same-day bookings, and requests are approved based on space availability. Should you have any questions, please reach out to dcc@ucf.edu.
